Autonomous cars watch: loosening regulations, Intel’s $15bn purchase, and AI

Your robot chauffeur may receive a California drivers licence soon. California’s proposed regulations would be among the first in the world to allow companies to self-regulate their autonomous cars.

Intel is diving deeper into the self-driving game, with the acquisition of Israeli machine vision leader Mobileye for US$15 billion, a purchase that brings industry connections along with the expertise.

Meanwhile is making progress to achieve Level 4 autonomy using deep learning.
