Further research supporting the case for a Camperdown-Ultimo Technology and Innovation Precinct was issued this month.
After evaluating several international case studies, the NSW Department of Industry has issued a report describing the economic benefits of innovation precincts. Enhanced productivity, improved resilience to economic downturns and better leverage of community assets are cited as primary reasons to promote an innovation distinct.
Among international peers, seven success factors were identified among innovation precincts: market drivers, competitive advantage, collaboration, infrastructure, amenity, enterprise culture and leadership.
Atlassian’s Scott Farquhar has joined efforts by the Greater Sydney Commission and the State of NSW to build catalyse economic development.
