On Wednesday 15 February 2017, 104 satellites were successfully deployed from the Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in a strong showing for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
In another record: 88 of the satellites were deployed for Earth imaging company Planet, giving it the largest satellite constellation ever. Combining with their existing fleet, and recent acquisition of Terra Bella, Planet will be aiming to deliver daily coverage of the entire earth.
