In just seven days Toulouse will host the first ever molecular-scale nanocar races.
Although the competitors include humorous names like the Ohio Bobcat Nano-Wagon, the Toulouse Nano-Mobile Club, and the Nano-Prix Team, this technology is no laughing matter.
The 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for molecular scale machines, and in the past month, Nature Nanotechnology has published results of a light-controlled nano-gearbox and Science has published on a light-powered nano-clock.
So…“On your marks! Get set! Go!”
