Thewarrencentre.org.au is operated by The Warren Centre for Engineering Innovation Limited (The Warren Centre), an Australian public company limited by guarantee (ACN 132 821 688).
Our data on all users and customers is primarily stored in Australia and may additionally be passed on to third-party services located in Australia, the United States and elsewhere.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
This website uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and web page usage.
This website also uses Jetpack by Automattic, a service which transmits website traffic data to Automattic servers in the United States. Stats logs containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature. This data is not made available by Automattic to The Warren Centre.
Contact forms and emails
When visitors fill out contact forms on this website we collect the data shown in the contact form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When you send us an email or contact form request, we use your email address to thank you for your comment and/or reply to your question, and we will store your communication and our reply for any future correspondence.
Beyond our initial reply, we will not use your email address to send you unsolicited messages or information, nor will we share it with or sell it to anyone else for such use.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Where we send your data
This website is hosted on servers under The Warren Centre’s direct control in Australia. Our primary contact database is also hosted in Australia under our direct control.
We also under some essential business circumstances use external organisations who process your data under our control. These include:
- Automattic (Jetpack), which provides website tracking and statistical services
- Campaign Monitor, which provides email marketing campaigns
- Eventbrite, which supports our event registration and billing
- Google Analytics, which provides website tracking and statistical services
- SurveyMonkey, which hosts and supports our customer service surveys
- The University of Sydney, which provides our internal IT systems, email servers, and contact database system hosting
These organisations have access to your data solely under our control for the purposes of providing services to us, and do not have access to your data for any other purposes. These organisations are based in Australia and the United States, and may use servers in Australia, the United States and elsewhere.

Please note that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

We safeguard personal information, according to the established security standards and procedures, by maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to the personal data information.
All customer information provided through our website is encrypted and protected with SSL software. All customer information is restricted in our offices. Only employees and contractors who need the information to perform their specific job role are granted access to customer information.
What third parties we receive data from
We do not purchase data or contact lists from third parties. Under certain circumstances we may send emails on behalf of our business partners to contact lists that they have provided to us. Our management of these lists conforms both to our data protection procedures and the procedures under which it was collated.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not use user data for individual decision making or for profiling individuals. We may use user data in aggregate to carry out anonymised analysis of our customer base in terms of geographical, professional and other key indicators in order to shape our future strategy and business development.
