The Warren Centre’s event Planes, Trains and Automobiles: How innovation is changing everything on 23 February 2016 was a riveting insight into the full spectrum of transport innovation. The event, attended by over 180 people, was held at the ASX in Sydney with presentations from:
- David Rohrsheim, General Manager, Uber ANZ
- Mike Edwards, General Manager, Boeing Research & Technology Australia
- Dean Economou, Technology Strategist, Data61
- Chris King, CEO, Splend
- Eduardo Nebot, Director, Australian Centre for Field Robotics
The ASX’s Max Cunningham gave a stirring opening address about innovation, entrepreneurship and digital disruptions being the new investment opportunities. The message was clear, innovation and disruption are here to stay and driving new investment opportunities and business models.
From congested roads, to ultra-efficient air travel, to ride sharing, there is no doubt the consumer has more travel choices than ever. The audience gained insights into transport innovation we have not yet implemented and what exciting ideas might be just around the corner. The topic was broad and the audience questions were insightful and enquiring. It is clear that this discussion will continue to unfold.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles was the first event in The Warren Centre’s 2016 Innovation Panel Series. The next event, Meditech: 2016 to 2025 and beyond will take place in Sydney on 10 May 2016.
