YouTube is investing US$25m in journalism on its platform to help news organisations produce online videos and reform its site to support trusted news providers.
The company says it will make “authoritative” news sources more prominent, especially in the wake of breaking news events when misinformation can spread quickly.
But will its algorithms ever be able to stay ahead of bad actors chasing for clicks… or worse?
